Choice
The question tears my chest
in escaping from within me...
Screaming out
loud!!!!
What is life? What now?
Now, oh this devastating,
obliterating now,
Now that will never be again,
like me.
Or am I a thought,
a beautiful thought?
An existence solely because
I CHOOSE
to believe so?
Oh choice,
what a wonderful life.
Well then,
I shall
choose to live
I shall choose to love,
and be loved
Instead of dying before my time
I will live past it.
I shall be -
Immortal
Because I
Choose to be
Life, is a desire
Now, a moment
Choice -
It's a
wonderful life!

[First of The Quest Trilogy.
Shared with you by me with the hope
that you may gain something from it.]
(C) Abbas Zaidi 1992-2009
This was written after my second near-death experience (captured on video) where my parachute didn't open on my first skydive. The longest 1.5 seconds of my life (at 120 MPH!) were a more significant teacher than it is possible to imagine. Or maybe you can, if you've looked death in the face and lived to reminice the experience...
Knowing that fact will enhance your experiencing of this work after I put it up in it's entirety. The second poem is the answer to the second question that Choice asks. How to live it. But we are getting ahead of ourselves.

What life is
Behold! I see the earth,
Spread out beneath my wings -
my
outstretched arms and legs,
as if crucified on a stake in the sky..
Metioric, this stake is a bullet,
a human cannon ball
that
can bore a well -
if allowed unchecked.
And I,
I control this cannonball.
I AM it.
I - am
my FATE.
[.. .. ..]
If this is
what it is,
Life...
then let us preach
it!
Let us bring
every unpassioned soul
out to this nurturing
womb
and cast them out..
that they may know the beauty of birth,
the joy of life and
the thrill of death
all within an instant - and maybe, just maybe -
find
their own Quest in the process...
[.. .. ..]
Life, I know now, is a passion,
it is
an addiction.
Life is an adventure -
for those who live it.
I am afraid that sleep overtakes me. I wish I had atteined the level of physical mastery where mere bodily functions were simply servants to the higher purpose, and not the other way around. But then again, that's what makes this life so beautiful!! So much to persue! So much to look forward to! So MUCH to learn! I feel like a kid in a candy store. The wonder of wisdom beckons from all directions, so much so that keeping your wits, and FOCUS, becomes the steady key to real success. More on that later.
Right now I'll go ahead and add the stub of my Third piece of this Trilogy, before the current train comes to it's stop for the night.

What Now?
Now,
fleeting now..
How may I possess
thee
And win this race eternal?
Now,
speeding now,
how may I contain U?
Wrestle U
from oblivion?
Now
Lovely Now.
How I wish I could
behold U,
As I race unto my own.
Shall I think and therefore be?
Shall I
open eyes and See?
Or shall I look into this soul
| & see |
|
looking back at me? |
But I know how, now, I will win you.
I
know how Now to BEGIN You!
"I" begin you every moment,
when I choose to stay alive.
Why shouldn't I
then control you?
When
it's ME
Who gives you life?
You're a slave to my choice
that is all I need to know.
You
are beckoned by my voice
It's not you that make me go.
I here am enthusiasm -
I my-self
motivate!
I rule MY imagination
It's My choice, I am MY Fate.
Life begins the moment
You choose to
begin living.
Now's are just the rungs
of
the ladder we traverse.
Some thus come,
some arrive,
some
clinging -
Les miserables.
Those who know
joy of Journey
Live
Each Now,
WONDEROUS!
You need to take a five minute break before proceeding.
I really mean that.
What I say in the poem, it's true. (Can you tell this is a multidimensional conversation? I am saying something by one statement that applies both before and after it. And this is not the first time I'm doing it either. You Understand.)
